Douglas
Is there such a thing as an "emergency" antidepressant? Since a recent med change, I've gotten worse. I'm back to where I started from over two years ago. Ugh! I'm seeing my pdoc tomorrow at 10; I'm hoping he can help. I feel that if I get any worse, I'll be a danger to myself. Squirlygrl
YMMV - Wellbutrin does that for me. Have used it twice, profitably, in fear-of-harming-myself situations. This was counterintuitive and potentially risky, as what you get first is the activation, so it involved a lot of checking in with the doctor. Zyprexa and Seroquel are also candidates. Maybe even Adderall, though the risk of agitated depression seems awfully high. Good luck tomorrow, sg
MellowYellow
Seroquel and Zyprexa as antidepressants?? Not in my experience. How about "Rocket Fuel" - Remeron and Effexor? Wellbutrin started working in 5 days for me.
Hellcat13
I was ramped up to 375mg effexor within 2 weeks! that helped. I take zyprexa too but that is more to calm me down (ie anxiety) rather than as an AD.
