Penny Century
i woke up this morning and couldn't take my wedding ring off. this is very odd. in fact, due to recent weight loss, i've been having a hard time keeping my rings on. (part of why i don't sleep with my engagement ring on. it's fallen off now twice. once when i was shaking my hand to dry a sample of perfume at barney's. it flew off and got stuck in the clerk's hair. that was scary and embarassing.) anyway... so this morning it's stuck. my fingers seem to have gone up at *least* a size over night. changes: 1)i got a deep tissue massage yesterday... could that have somehow puffed me? 2)last night was the second night i used restoril 3)i rased my dose of abilify from 2.5mg to 5mg (but switched dosing from PM to AM so wouldn't that have caused this during the day yesterday?) HaloGirl66
I'd put my money on the massage. I've heard they can "redistribute fluid" or cause swelling. How about putting a bag of ice on the effected hand, then lube up with some lotion to get the rings off?

How about putting a bag of ice on the effected hand, then lube up with some lotion to get the rings off? *twitches* (totally off topic) i mail ordered some lube b/c i don't feel like making an outing to a sex shop and all the lubes in drug stores have glycerin in them which what makes them sweet and i find it causes problems. anyway the bottle BROKE and it got ALL OVER the catalogue inside and it was REALLY REALLY gross and just.... *twitch* (now i have to call them, and it's a nice women-owned store, but still, i don't want to call. i also don't want to deal with that box.) ok. so... the massage. think i should also maybe drink tea or maybe a stronger diuretic? was a nice massage at least. *sigh*
Maddy
I <3 you Penny! I <3 lube stories! Sorry. Another trick you might try with the fingers is holding them up over your head and then make a fist, then totally stretch out your hand and do that a few times. Granted it will probably only help with circulation issues. That's what most of my problems stem from.

Loon-A-TiK
i got the rubber grips on my bike handlebars with soap. maybe try some kind of oil, maybe mineral oil, or butter? i don't have any other ideas. lube would work. if you know of one without ingredients you can't tolerate, you could always make someone else go into the store and buy it. (i also jumped on the bandwagon and got a rabbit since everyone says they are just THE BEST. but the box is all slimey from the packing mishap.... sigh. not that i needed it. or did i? i know women who say that life isn't the same after.) OK I SHUSH ON THIS. ------- really, i'm just curious about the why part.
HaloGirl66
http://nccam.nih.gov/health/massage/ Side effects of massage therapy may include: * Temporary pain or discomfort * Bruising * Swelling * A sensitivity or allergy to massage oils As for the lube, a sex shop is one of the few places within walking distance of my house so I don't hve to worry about my dumbass mailman breaking shit.
