I'm bipolar and am on Lamictal and Wellbutrin. I was on Abilfy but I stopped taking it. I think it was making me feel dumb. It just seemed unnecessary. It was the Wellbutrin that knocked the suicidal ideation and obsession with death on its ass. So I quit cold turkey last week and I don't feel any different whatsoever.

Does anyone know the general rule for getting off Abilify?

I had to stop taking it cold turkey with no ill effects but you know the rules waterfall- taper, taper, taper. The question would be is the lamictal and wellbutrin enough to ward off severe mania if it should strike? For me, I went nuts and needed to add risperdal. Be sure to tell your pdoc what's going on. I wish you luck!

I'm still off of it and I can't believe how much better my mind is working. I can spell again and I just feel mentally sharp. On the Abilify I felt somehow stunted and unable to make sense of out things. It really affected me at work. Now I just have to convince my boss that I am more capable than she first thought.

Anyone else get brain death from Abilify?
