jacomus
Well when I stopped taking Risperidone it was for the same reason, akathesia.. urgh So, for me, I didn't feel anything but better as I had no longer to deal with the dreaded akathesia. You may feel kinda sketchy for a few days, but it should be out of your system in no time. If you hate akathesia as much as I do, you wont be in for too much torture since I think akathesia is the worst feeling I have ever experienced on aps [jacomus]
Guest
If the AK has been permanently activated, then tapering off won't make it any worse, to my knowledge. I'd recommend that you taper off unless your pdoc has asked you specifically to quit cold turkey, and it doesn't sound like they have.
ehygon
When I cold turkey stopped taking my risperdal, I didn't have any problems really. Hope it goes well for you.
