lessconfusedmom
If someone is taking Risperdal 1.75 mg a day, does it make a difference if they take it all at once or split up? Or does it basically just all get into your system and have the same effect? My daughter takes 1.5 at night and .25 in the day. Not sure why we wouldn't just take it all at night. Quixote
Risperdal has a short half life and initially was given in divided dosages but experience has proved Risperdal can be taken once at bedtime. Risperdal is sedating and the day time dosage might be slowing the daughter down a bit. One has to monitor the situation naturally. If there are flairups when the total dosage is given at night then perhpas a small dose during the day is best but absent a specific day time flair up which seems to be associated with a total nightly dosage giving all the Risperdal at night makes sense. Guest novice
Risperdal can usually be taken at bedtime. No two doses necessary. This minimalizes any discomfort. But ask the doctor.
