papertrees
Since I started lamictal, I've had weird rapid eye twitching that occurs sporadically. It's like my eye twitches and then I'm blinking about 100 times in 2 seconds and then it's gone. This is weird. Could it be caused by lamictal? I'm on 100mg, titrating up. r.mcmurphy
i can only offer that you might consider holding back on going up. then you might have a clearer picture of what's driving the symptom. i followed the titration schedule to a t and then it did a tune on me shortly after hitting the top end. i can only hope that a more knowledgeable member or your own scouting about will provide better insight to the blinks. LunaRufina
It could be related to the meds or it could be related to nothing. I've had my eye just randomly start twitching for days and I hadn't changed my meds [not that it says anything to one way or the other]. I mean, I looked through the PI sheet and it said muscle spasms but I'm assuming they meant gross and not stuff like eye twitches. And a lot of eye twitches have names, so I think that it would have been mentioned. On the other hand, funny stuff happens sometimes. Maybe someone else has had this happen? But sometimes it just happens. I would mention it to your doctor next time you see them if it's still going on. If it really starts getting out of control and involving various parts of your face, like grimacing, then would be the time to call. Otherwise, there's not really much to do about it. If it is really really troubling you, you do always have the option of calling your doctor. Hopefully it will go away really soon, I know it can be really annoying. papertrees
Thanks. I calle my pdoc already and he has started me on biperiden (akineton), an anti-parkinsonism drug. I'm guessing this may be an effect of Abilify more so than lamictal. I hope it goes away.
LunaRufina
The Abilify would have more of a chance doing something than Lamictal would. I'm suprised you didn't ask about that, also.
Guest stutz0000
I think it is the lamictal itself. I am taking 200 mg's for about 3 months. My left eye twitches, I cannot control it! I am getting worried, Im glad to see someone eles is having this problem (so I know im not the only one). I have not went to the doctor yet but soon will if it keeps happening! Im so glad for the internet because I thought I was just going crazy! I think you can rule out the abilify because I dont take it just Lamictal!
