Some of my worries: Will I be awake one second and all of a sudden fall asleep or do you just feel really sleepy? Completely irrational, but I'm afraid it will cause me stop breathing or feel like I can't breathe. Will I have a hangover the next day? Supposedly, Sonata is out of your system so fast that there is no morning after feeling. I really.. really.. need to sleep tonight. Someone please ease my mind! Cetkat Posted October 4, 2007 Share Posted October 4, 2007 Sonata is pretty tame so you'll more than likely just feel a bit sleepy.. making it easier to actually fall asleep on your own. It only stays in your system for 4 hours, so if you sleep that long or longer you shouldn't have any type of hangover. I've also never heard of any sleep medication causing trouble breathing when taken at the correct dosage.. i.e. not the whole bottle. Sweet dreams! I didn't end up taking it last night because I have an early appt with my tdoc this morning and I was still afraid about the hangover aspect. I'm going to give it a try tonight though! kimberly Posted October 6, 2007 Author Share Posted October 6, 2007 Well, I finally took it last night. Major disappointment! It made me yawn more than usual, but it took over an hour to fall asleep. I guess that's an improvement over the 4 hours it typically takes. Plus, I had major morning grogginess. I don't know if I'll bother with it again. You might want to give it another try, just to see if the morning grogginess is something that wears off.
