I have been taking Abilify since the beginning of July. My doses went from 15 mg to 7.5 to 5 to 10 during that time. Since the last mont or so, I have been feeling acute ansiety. The good thing is, I lsot 15 pounds. The bad thing is I can't stand food. I am nauseous frequently. Could this be the abilify? I have never experienced this before. It is awful. To say the least. I asked my pdoc about going back on Seroquel even though it caused weight gain because I missed the "calmness" I experienced on it. So, this weekend I am going to start back on Seroquel and see if it helps or do I have some strange disease. I don't know how i will react to starting back. I remember the first couple of times I took it long ago, it made me extremely sedated. That was only 12.5 mg. I am supposed to take 100 at night but I want to take it during the day. I don't want to drive on it until I know how it will affect me. Any input would be much appreciated.

So were you at 15mg before without the nausea, and now going back to that amount is causing it? Do you think it could be the extra anxiety instead? The Abilify could definitely be the cause of that.

With the Seroquel, the less you take the more tired you will get from it. So 12.5mg is more sedating than 100mg. You may be ok at 100mg, or you may need to increase the dose if you want to take it in the day. For me, 100mg still knocks me out.. but YMMV.

I have spent the last couple of months battling a badddd mania, and my psych decided that we should try Abilify. So, we d/c'd the seroquel, and tried it. That stuff is EVIL. I haven't felt that bad in 5 years, I swear. Gave it 2 weeks, had to take a leave of absence from work because of the dysphoric mania, and at the end of it, started back on 450 of seroquel. Blessed calm. I'll deal with the cravings, and things are going well with my weight loss after the bypass. It doesn't seem to be causing that insane hunger that I had before the bypass.

Seroquel made me sooooo fat. check this out.... The AFTER picture was just three weeks after getting off!

this was on seroquel (the fat face) and then I went off seroquel.

I started taking 5HTP, Tryptophan and GABA instead and it's been miracles. I'd say maybe try some alternative stuff before going back on that toxic crap.
