Victoria
Hi, I just recently began Lyrica, titrating up to 300mg last night. My current cocktail already consists of Lithium, Lamictal, Topamax, Cymbalta and Seroquel & Trazadone as PRNs. Now, I can deal with side effects. I have dealt with side effects. I am a walking ad for side effects. But, I cannot tolerate "a lot" of weight gain. I want to know what this means, what this entails, and what your experience has been. Thanks, Victoria
zenbean
Wow, lots of Lyrica discussions today! I've been on 50 mg tid for well over a year and no weight gain. It works well on my pain and anxiety with a side effect of just a little sleepiness. Hope this helps.
dreamless
I was on Lyrica recently for anxiety (it's officially approved for that over here in Europe). On 300 mg, I gained 2 lbs a week for the 2 months I took it. It seemed very dose-dependent for me though, when I went down to 150 mg I immediately lost that extra appetite. I also lost 4 lbs in about 2 days while still eating, so some of that must have been retained fluid. I still went off Lyrica completely because the effect/side effect ratio for me didn't make it worthwhile. After stopping it, I have gradually lost some of the weight I put on, without actually dieting.

I am hoping that by continuing (and ramping up) a large water intake regime, I can avoid a lot of fluid retention. I will take from your post to be mindful about the appetite increase (very scary for me) and hope that the benefits DO outweigh the side effects. I appreciate the input from both of you!
