Greenyflower
I had been on Zoloft at 50 mgs, in conjunction with Wellbutrin XL at 450 mgs, for 2 1/2 years when I started slipping back into depression. The Zoloft has now been upped to 150 mgs not quite three weeks ago. I've not noticed much benefit, but my hand tremor has increased exponentially. The minimal benefit I have noticed is better sleep; other than that, nada. I'm not sure whether to try the Zoloft at 200 mgs or try something new along with the Wellbutrin. Have any of you experienced a significant beneficial difference between 150 & 200 mgs of Zoloft for depression and also persistent and intrusive thoughts? My next pdoc appointment is on November 1st. Velvet Elvis
Three weeks isn't really enough time to be able to tell the difference. Give it as long as you gave it to start working in the first place. Six weeks would be more like it.
Cetkat
If you feel you can wait until your pdoc appointment.. Why not raise it up to 200 anyway just to see? I would think that you would notice a benefit, or lack of, by the 1st. It would be 6 weeks at an increase and 3 at 200. It could be that 150 doesn't hit the right spot for the response you're looking for. Yeah, it could make the tremor worse; but if you're willing to try going up to 200 at your next appointment anyway, then what's the harm? That way you can go to the appointment with the knowledge of whether or not you need a new med. You can always back the Zoloft back down if you need to. Your other option is to go the pdoc now and change meds, or wait three more weeks before taking any action. Hopefully someone can give you more advice on the 150-200 difference.. My wife went from 100-200mg and it really helped her with depression and suicidal/homicidal thoughts.
Greenyflower
Thank you all for your thoughts. I looked back at the calendar and have been on 150 since 9/18. Tomorrow will be 3 weeks. Nothing yet except increased tremor. At this point I think I'll call my pdoc in a week and bump it up to 200. That will make it three weeks at 200 mgs at my Nov 1 appointment. I don't know what the plan is if the 200 mgs doesn't help. It's getting bad.
