doghappy
Mood has been pretty stable for about three months but the fatigue is getting worse. Have taken Provigil for a couple of years but now, at 600 mg/day, it is not really helping. I really have trouble with the increased fatigue because my anxiety goes way up when I'm tired and I'm just not getting things done. What have others done to combat the fatigue? It's probably partly due to meds I take but, also, I've always had trouble with fatigue (unless manic). Thanks! - Kiki
OreoKitty
I take provigil. But my depression will breakthrough my medication anyways. Of course, my fatigue goes way up when I'm in that mood. At the beginning of the depression, my pdoc tried me on adderall to speed me up. It didn't touch me. So when my depression breaks through, my provigil doesn't work. But now that I'm better, I know my provigil works because when I missed half a dose I felt slower and foggier that day. That's just my experience. doghappy
Thank you so much for the replies - this is really bothering me and it helps so much to have feedback. Oreokitty - it's a very good point and one I've considered. In fact, I brought it up with my pdoc but he didn't really bite. Yesterday, though, I really felt the depression coming on so now I'm wondering again. Your comment makes total sense. Maybe I'll push him on it again. My sleep pretty much sucks - I go to sleep fine but I wake up every couple of hours. He's trying to fix that with Seroquel. And my thyroid is being checked - good suggestion. Should know next week. Since Lithium fucks it up, there's no telling. I hope this isn't depression setting in again. I hate worrying that it could be. It's really hard for me to take anti-depressants so I guess that means more Lithium...
Velvet Elvis
You might want to consider a sleep study to find out if there is anything else that might be interfering with your sleep. If you're tired all the time and you're not sleeping well, it's pretty obvious that's your problem.

doghappy
How did the test turn out? Are you doing any better? Cetkat: Thank you so much for checking in. My thyroid IS off - I need to increase my Synthroid but when I tried to do that it made me really anxious. Since then, I have increased my Seroquel so we're going to try again. Hopefully, getting my thyroid back on track will mean more energy and less weight - I've gained seven pounds in the last three weeks. NOT happy about that. Thanks again. - Kiki

I want you to feel better. What was you TSH.. if you don't mind me asking? I assume that it was high enough that you didn't get too much Synthroid and go a little hyper. I know what you mean about the weight gain. My thyroid started acting up about 6 months ago.. and especially during the past 4. I've gained 30lbs.. and I'm not happy about that. Being hypothyroid makes it hard to take it off too. Did you get back your energy and lose the weight the last time your levels got back to normal?
