Hey, does anyone out there know anything about the drug "Geodon"? I need some help on finding some real research, and the truth, not what the doctors, etc. want me to think. I am also a refugee from Crazymeds, and I miss being able to look crap up and think yeah this guy is right again.

Anyways, all input is welcomed. ;)

Im on 160 mg of Geodon. It makes me really sleepy, so I take it all at night, and I sleep really well. I started it during a mixed episode. It really helped with the depression but left me manic. It's been a couple months, and Im still a bit manic, though my pdoc doesn't think it's the Geodon causing it (I do). YMMV, as everyone says, it may work very well for you. I haven't been depressed since I've been on it, though.

It worked well enough for my OCD related intrusive thoughts but it has one major drawback: a really short halflife. If I went more than a day or so without it I was fucked up. I'm scattered enough that I need something that's a bit more forgiving when I forget to pick up a refill or lose my bottle.

I started taking Geodon for bipolar depression. It really helped me start coming out of the depression. I did have side effects to begin with. Feeling a little manic to begin with-80mg. Crying episodes at 160mg. An episode of restless legs. Then still had anxiety and intrusive thoughts at 240mg for a little while. But how much of this was related to Geodon or just coming out of a depression. The side effects did pass. I feel Geodon really helped with my depression.

You need to take it with food. You don't want to miss doses because it has a short half-life and makes me feel funky. All in all I'm glad I take it. I do think it is a med that you either love it or hate it.
