New guy needs advice

Recommended Posts

Into and out of BP-NOS for many years. Right now I am in the down phase and Li doesn't work anymore. In fact it seems to make depression and anxiety worse. Pdoc has given me a starter kit of Seroquel. I tried Abilify a few months ago and got terrible akathisia. Tried fluoxitine, fluvoxamine, effexor, remeron, wellbutrin and probably some others to no or bad effect. The Noreprinephrine meds made mood swing worse and Serotonin meds gave me anxiety and depression. Remeron was particularily terrible as it made me go into rage and sleep at the same time for three days. So I need to know if seroquel would put me to sleep for three days like remeron?

Could I put this topic into another section for more replies?

I don't know if you would sleep for three days.. but it will knock you out. Especially at lower doses and before you get used to it.

Go for it. And, welcome. ;)

Do you know how it compares to Remeron for somnolence? I've taken that and want some kind of comparison. Thanks in advance.

Seroquel is usually much more potent. It really makes you fall asleep rather than just making you drowsy.

Since you're new to the site, if you're asking where you might post this to get more replies, look for "Meds and other crap that makes life tolerable" and then go to the appropriate subsection.

Sorry I can't supply any advice...don't have experience with Seroquel...but there are lots of folks here who do, and will be happy to fill you in.

In the meantime, welcome!
