But I have tried prozac, paxil, zoloft, luvox, celexa, and for a couple days lexapro. always tired on them. I have been on cymbalta for several months and it just isn't working on the ocd like it did before. I even increased to 80mg but now it is just as bad. The one thing I never did was try something like provigil with one of these meds. Prozac worked ok at a very high dose - 100mg or so. paxil - heart issues, celexa did nothing, zoloft i think made me tired and something else. wondering to go back to prozac or go for the potent lexapro and the kick in the provigil when I start getting tired?

Zoloft 150mg works great for me, augmented by 2.5mg of Zyprexa. Did you give the Zoloft time to work? A/D effects sometimes take 6 weeks to kick in, but I've read that anti-OCD effects can take up to 3 months to really take effect. This was the case for me. There's also Luvox (fluvoxamine), the only SSRI not indicated for depression, but for OCD. It's supposed to work really well. Also, anafranil, the old tricyclic, which has always been the gold standard for OCD. Topamax has also been shown in recent studies to be a good augmenter to SSRI's for OCD, and it has worked really well on intrusive thoughts for me. The SSRI alone may not do the trick. Try augmenting with low-dose Zyprexa, Risperdal, or Seroquel. Low-dose is key, because studies have shown that high dose AAP augmentation can actually worsen OCD symptoms. Hope this helps.

I'm not sure- this may be pre SSRIs, but years ago the go to drug for OCD was an AD called Anafranil- you may want to ask pdoc- sometimes even when there are many new discoveries in meds- if they are not working for you it can be useful to go back and try the old tried and true. good luck.
