shannon Posted November 13, 2007 Share Posted November 13, 2007 Sorry I keep asking so many depakote questions but I know one of the side effects is that it can cause you to miss your period. Well I took a home pregnancy test and am not pregnant but I am over a month late. Anybody else experience this? Is it important enough to call pdoc I see him 2 more weeks? shannon Posted November 16, 2007 Author Share Posted November 16, 2007 Well I did finally call pdoc he said stop taking it immediately. I said so I just stop automatically. He says, Yes just keep taking your klonopin and come see me at your next appointment (which is six days away) and we'll find you a new mood stabilizer. I'm scared to, I said, I'm home alone with two small children all day. Don't be scared, he assured me, there is no withdrawal. Well I didn't take any last night but I am still a little bit scared. Are you scared you will destabilize and some how be frightening or dangerous to your kids in the next 6 days? shannon Posted November 17, 2007 Author Share Posted November 17, 2007 I felt like the depakote er was finally starting to help. Granted I was hungry all the time, but the nausea was gone and basically except for feeling tired I had no other side effects, except the no period thing. I was finally able to sleep at night instead of laying awake thinking about how I've pretty much screwed everything up. My migraines were gone and my anxiety felt like the edge had been taken off of it. I feel bad about having to start all over. The whole point of me even going to the pdoc in the first place was to be better for those kids. I would not hurt them for the world. I do have a good support system though if I need to call it in.
