Salty taste w/lamictal, lunesta?

Okay, I've been on Lamicat 150 for over a year, plus Lunest 3 MG for about a year. In August I added another 10 mg of Lamictal, bringing the grand total to 160. Anyway, I've had the metallic taste with both meds on and off, but lately, as in the past 6-8 weeks, I've had a distinct, very powerful SALTY taste, which is different from the metallic one.

I had surgery in August, so maybe I'm still processing the anesthesia/pain meds/ibuprofen.

Does anyone think it's the Lamictal or the Lunesta suddenly causing this after all this time?

Thanks.

Lamictal and some of the other anticonvulsants can certainly mess with the taste of things. Many people report the taste of soda being altered. I rarely drink sodas but it sure messed with my lovely cup of morning coffee. Sometimes I ended up pouring it out. In a quick check I didn't find salty taste as a reported side effect, but there could be some fewer numbers. So, I wouldn't be surprised for this to happen.

Some people report some nasty morning mouth taste with some of the sleep aids, though I didn't have any problems with Ambien. You might check the sleep aid forum for your med.

Good luck!
