witchywoman
I've heard somewhere that Trileptal isn't a very good mood stabiliser. I've also read that it's good if it's paired up with something else, but not alone. So, can anyone here tell me a little about the effectiveness of Trileptal? Im on it along with Geodon. I worry that it wont work that well. I just had to go off of Lamictal because of a rash, and just raised my Trileptal from 900mg to 1200mg. I was doing good with Lamictal, Geodon, and Trileptal together, but kinda crashed a bit once the Lamictal was gone. Do I have any hope with the Trileptal and Geodon together? BjornGlitchy
I was on trileptal alone as a mood stabilizer and I thought it worked well. I was taking 1500mg, and it was the first time in years I had relief from depression and anxiety/hypomania. Unfortunately, it was far to sedating and turned me into a fuzzy headed stoner. I was so gorked out of my mind that I couldn't function at all. Now I am titrating off of it. I hope you have better luck with it. I think at higher doses it works well, if you can bear with the side effects. Personally, Risperdal has been a life saver, it is a wonderful med. starfish
i've been on trileptal since last april and it has worked well as a mood stabilizer, and by this i mean it keeps me in one state at a time : either i'm depressive or i'm manic, but rarely both. at the beginning of the treatment it worked pretty well but i think my body's getting used to it. i have taken it along with prozac, lithium, risperdal, and lamictal.
