starfish
i just came back from my appt. it lasted like 5 minutes because doc had a bunch of people waiting. he basically prescribed zoloft instead of the prozac i've been taking for over a year. and i wonder "why zoloft if there is a bunch of better things?" i'm pissed because i know sertraline is not going to do shit on me. i told him "buying the meds is not a problem" but he prescribed what's available at the public health system. it's fine, we're not millionaires, but we can afford better, more effective stuff. i dont know what to say. i'm disappointed. Greenyflower
The thing is, people can respond really differently to different SSRIs. Doesn't seem logical, but that's the way it works. Give the Zoloft a chance.

ConfusedCat
I love it when it works out like that. You just never know. Those pleasant surprises are a blessing. Hope it continues to improve. CC~
nomi
I was just given a prescription for Zoloft yesterday, but I'm only supposed to take it during PMS/PMDD hell. Pdoc said it's pretty frequently used for that. He was hesitant to put me on an SSRI, but since I'm on both Lamictal and Neurontin, and since it's only 5-7 days out of the month, he decided we could try it, as long as I'm OK with it. Considering how nightmarish my mood swings are during that special time, I'm willing to try it.
