Iknewsomethingwasamiss
Hello All, I am a newly diagnosed ADHDer. I started on Concerta last week and can definitely tell a difference. I feel like I have so much energy and can really get a ton done. No problem with concentrating or having enough energy. I have no problem sleeping either. The problem I do have is that I feel like I am going 100 mph all the time. Yesterday I didn't drink my morning coffee and didn't feel as hyped up but today I did drink it and feel really hyped. Do those of you who are on stimulants refrain from drinking a lot of caffeine? I am very excited that I have been diagnosed and that I am on drugs. It is awesome to feel so under control and have so much energy this close to the holidays. I am afraid it is going to wear off after a few weeks. Will it?? Thanks! Siegfried
I refrain from drinking coffee now that I'm under adderall because if I do I will get the same effects just as you. I think my 10mg/day of adderall is enough for me to keep me more than energized so I don't see the need to everdo it and add coffee to the mix. null0trooper
Do those of you who are on stimulants refrain from drinking a lot of caffeine? Some do, some don't. I usually consume a reasonable amount, but I don't take as much Adderall either. It mostly evens out. I am very excited that I have been diagnosed and that I am on drugs. It is awesome to feel so under control and have so much energy this close to the holidays. I am afraid it is going to wear off after a few weeks. Will it?? The excess energy will probably taper off, but the important part - being in control enough to get things done - usually doesn't wear off. You might not notice even that as much, but that's also good.

Dex
I just found this forum and was reading about all the experiences that people have had - but way too similar to my experiences. Anyways, I've been on Concerta for about 2 and a half years now ... or is it 3 ... It's recommended that you stay away from coffee or any caffeine, but I've had limited success when it's wearing off or I need an extra boost. Exactly like null0trooper said, after time it won't seem like a "high". The first day is heaven, I set my productivity record that day - worked constant for 12 hours. After a while it might start wearing off and every half year or so you might need to make adjustments. Force yourself to take weekends off. It'll take more time for your body to get used to the chemicals. Started at 18mg and I just got it upped to 54mg.
wake me when i'm dead
Do those of you who are on stimulants refrain from drinking a lot of caffeine? different stimulant, but i do drink coffee. probably 2-4 cups of coffee a day. with 30 mgs dexedrine. no problems with getting jacked up. i DO notice if i don't take it though. attention span of a flea for starters, and then it goes downhill from there. oh yeah. i usually drink 1 other caffeinated drink to my daily intake now that i think more about it. 3-5 cups of caffeinated goodness a day. hope things are going well for you wmwid
