Penny Century
DEA to Allow 90-Day Supply of Schedule II Drugs The new regulation, which went into effect December 19, 2007, allows physicians to prescribe up to a 90-day supply of Schedule II controlled substances during a single patient visit through the use of up to three separate prescriptions. Prior to the new regulation, physicians could only prescribe up to a 30-day supply. The change allows physicians more flexibility in treating patients with conditions requiring long-term use of Schedule II medications. w00t! (because it's hard enough to remember to go to the pharmacy every month, let alone the Dr. and pharmacy.)

null0trooper
OMG...common sense...from the government? (Has hell frozen over?) It doesn't mean that the insurance companies are paying any attention to it. Edit: Nevermind. Implementing it through writing three separate scripts at a time ... probably means they don't want to deal with the insurance companies either. Velvet Elvis
I think this is codifying what was common practice. I've always gotten mine like that.
wake me when i'm dead
i have to go to the office once a month for mine. i don't need a proper appointment every month. though my pdoc has been keeping me on a short leash lately. i just read this on the florida department of health site. stumbled upon it through a search for something else, but it was a worthwhile read.
