reco50
I have in my possesion: xanax(with repeats) cloneazepam(with repeats) oxazepam(with repeats) Depending on my feelings at any particular day, if I feel the need for something I open the menu and decide what would work best that day. I feel I have various different types of anxiety, some days its this, some days it that. You already know the various different meds and their distinctive attributes. My family doctor gave me repeats based on what a former Pdoc tried at various times. I try and not order refills at the same time, this might red flag the pharmacist, although he knows I take these similar meds. He pointed it out to me when I was refilling one of them one day but went ahead and filled them. H e knows me somewhat, its a small pharmacy. During a emergency room visit a while back,an call Pdoc who saw me said NO! you cant mix and match benzos. I shrugged my shoulders, he went away. Maybe this is wrong but lately I have been combining them, say like 1 cloneazepam with 2 xanax with I think good results. The xanax gets in there and shreds the anxiety to pieces, then the cloneazepam keeps it at bay. I am not a benzo abuser. This is not a daily occurence, maybe 3 -4 times a week. What the hell, it works for me. Maybe I'm doing harm to myself and don't yet realize it, somedays I just dont care. I'm 50 yrs old and figure my time left among us is not all that far into the future, men die at around 75 now.(What a fucked up attitude) Please dont suggest an anti-depressant instead of regular benzo use because I will not take any of the dozen or so anti-depressants i have been prescribed in the past for this reason: I was left almost completely impotent for 1 year because of them. I belong to the camp that thinks certain anti-depressants do cause permanent sexual dysfunction in males although I still take wellbutrin. I have been off the major anti-depressants for about 10 months and still cannot achieve an erection naturally. Now if I want to even think about sex with my wife, its $15 dollar a pill Viagara which does not always get the desired result and leaves me feeling kind of sick(headache - heartburn - stuffed up) plus you have to plan every encounter like it is watching a movie or taking a shower.Check out google and YOUTUBE for other peoples permanent sexual dysfunction situations - I am not alone in this theory and its scary. I worry about young men taking these drugs only to find themselves impotent, Guys watch this: Fuck cant get the link to work dammit - OK just search youtube for this: ManFromUk2007 SCARY! Any way I'm getting way off my post topic here sorry. Taking two differnt benzos at one time is maybe not right but I' will continue to do so for now. If you must flame me over this, so be it. I probably deserve it. Does anybody else take different benzos together and if so how does it help? P.S. Ranting on this board makes me feel so unburdened and good. Guest SicTransitGloria
For the Viagra, I find that taking a couple ibuprofen at the same time can really cut down on those annoying side effects. The cost is a bit much but, depending on the dosage you take, you can really save a lot. I asked my pdoc to prescribe me 100mg so I could get a pill cutter and split it up into 25mg doses. MUCH CHEAPER! Planning does suck, but it's better than the alternative. I've never tried the 'weekender' Cialis, but I've heard mixed things. pixie_b
My good doctor once had me taking xanax and tranxene together. I was on very small doses for each. I would take a xanax in the morning since it less sedating to me and a tranxene at night so I could sleep. This went on for about 1 1/2 years. It worked great! When it was time to wean me off he gave me detailed instructions and would return any weird late night call I made. Fast forward to the present and now I am taking just tranxene 3.75 mg twice daily. I have found the tranxene takes care of the anxiety but I can still feel emotions like a "normal" person. Good luck, and just be sure you do what works and is safe. Guest
If a doctor has advised you not to use the benzo's that way, and you lie to your pharmacist about them, then YES you are abusing them. I also question the point of posting if you don't want to consider changing this behaviour. We can be sympathetic to people who have a problem that they can't see a way out of but wish to change. You seem to want to stay stuck in your current mode. I won't enable your denial.
blackbird
I have at my disposal 3 x 5mgs Diazepam per day, 2 x 1mgs of Lorazepam per day and 1 x 7.5mgs Zopiclone per day. I do not consider myself addicted to benzos, I use them judiciously to help me get through the day at work when I am in an advanced state of paranoia, convinced my workmates are discussing my thoughts and sabotaging my work or the nurse-paranoia gets out of control and I feel my brain is about to burst. If I didn't have my benzos I would be in a frenetic state of paranoid fantasy and visions all day. My life would be unbearable and I'd be suicidal. Not even going over the max dose of Olanzapine helps with my paranoia. The only thing that calms and soothes me is benzos and I feel I have the right to come home from work, take some diazepam or lorazepam, attempt to forget the paranoia and chill out with my studies and doze off to an untroubed sleep. mrsloony
I don't understand why you need multiple benzos Benzos have probably saved my life but i've only ever taken one kind for whatever period of time. I would think that if you need to combine and pick and choose- then you are not finding a med that would truly help. Its usually best to try one med at a time for a while then if it doesn't work for you you try another. this way you can tell whats working and whats not. When my anxiety got so out of control is when I began taking APs- they last longer and i use the benzo to supplement. Sounds like you are kind of all over the place about what you are taking and why. This is where it is absolutely essential that you tell pdoc and gp of everything you have and how you are using them. These meds are more powerful than people think because they have become so common. They can be dangerous and there is a reason they are "prescription"- PDOCs can only help if you are honest and work with them. PDOC should be supervising all that you take. If you are not following PDOC instructions then you are abusing and probably could use some help with that too (tdoc?)
