lotv25
I took my first 5 mg pill of Abilify this morning and first of all I was asleep within 20 minutes. I slept the entire day! Now that I'm up and doing things, I feel drunk, lightheaded, kinda like I'm in a bubble?
IHeartAAPs
Sedation, drowsiness and lightheadedness are typical side effects of AAPs. They tend to wear off with time.
SashaSue
I remember feeling pretty crappy the first few days of taking Ablify, but now I love it. So I'd say give it at least a few days, and then see where you are.
netsavy006
Yes, please give it a few more days. It may go away. For these first few days unless absolutely necessary to take 5, they can be split in 1/2 to make 2.5mg.
AirMarshall
Seroquel did the same thing for me the first few days, but then wasn't a problem. Give it some time for you body to adapt. You want to switch to evening dosing so the sleepiness is while you are sleeping! a.m.
netsavy006
My pdoc likes to prescribe AAPs @ night for this particular reason.
qwerty
I've been feeling the same way on 5mg--drunk/stoned. I've also been seeing things; not hallucinations per se, but seeing something move out of the corner of my eye. Is that normal?
Zedster
I've been feeling the same way on 5mg--drunk/stoned. I've also been seeing things; not hallucinations per se, but seeing something move out of the corner of my eye. Is that normal? I had the same experience on 40 mg of Geodon (sorry I'm not on the Abilify track). I felt really strange, saw shadows move in my peripheral vision, and would hear my dog walking around the house even though she was lying down right in front of me. I had to stop taking it after 3 weeks because the side effects were getting worse. My Pdoc doubled my Wellbutrin to 300 mg and said that if that doesn't help, he'll start me on Abilify. I've had this for periods on Paxil, Seroquel and Lamictal. It faded away after a few weeks to a few months. Try not to let it scare you. Do mention it to your pdoc. best, a.m.
