Guest PramQuestion
Pramipexole has been a drug I've heard a lot about in certain circles (I was in a study at NIH), but not one I've heard much being prescribed "in the wild" so to speak. Is there anyone out there on it now?
Greenyflower
Here's a link to more information from rxlist. It's a dopamine agonist and used in the US for Parkinsons and Restless Legs Syndrome. RxList
LikeMinded
Hi there, I'm on Mirapex/pramipexole (0.5mg 3 times a day for a total of 1.5mg/d), but for a parkinsonian syndrome (due to infection) and not for psychiatric illness (I'm on Cymbalta and Lamictal for that issue). I didn't see a significant change in mood once starting Mirapex, but maybe since that was because my depression was in partial remission as it was. I have heard of psychiatrists swearing by it for BP depression... maybe they read this research article... Anyways, talk to your doc and find his/her opinion about this. Best of luck in getting treated!
