new diagnosis maybe?

Hello Everyone I went to a new pdoc today and unlike some of the others we talked about all the meds I have tried for anxiety and the obsessive type of ocd. The doctor has a "hunch" I have add and other doctors have told me that is a possible. The pdoc wanted to move me back to cymbalta which worked the best for my anxiety and ocd as well ass continue klonopin.

This is the first doctor to suggest a stimulant and really say that unless I try the med there is no way to prove I have add even if I did all the testing they can do. I guess the end result with testing is that I likely would have some symptoms and they would want to try me on meds.

He talked me into at least taking the prescription for "dextroamphetamine spansules". I don't know what these are exactly but he said they were safe and it wasn't ritalin.

does anyone take these stimulants with drugs like cymbalta? I read that cymbalta works on the 2 chemicals in your brain but mostly serotonin and the doctor said the same thing. But then I read this new med works on neurepenephrine as well as the cymbalta so is that to much on that one chemical? Also if i am anxious and using the other meds is it common to take a stimulant anyway? He said I still need the cymbalta and klonopin because the anxiety and obsessing is a separate problem. Do people with add also have ocd and anxiety?

The cybalta + dexidrine combo is what works best for me OCD + ADD combo. I had to go off cymbalta for a while to save some cash but paxil turned into a disaster so I'm likely going back on it.

I just got diagnosed with add at the age of 35 after bouncing around to MANY pdocs that never seemed to know what to do with me.

I have cymbalta 60mg daily, then start adderall tomorrow at 5mg and moving up slowly.

Then I have klonopin 1mg x 3 times a day, I usually take it once during the day and then one at night.

So I guess my question is, this new pdoc seems to like xanax xr? how is that compared to klonopin?

I start adderall tomorrow with 60mg of cymbalta which I have been taking for a week.

I also take klonopin 1mg x 3 per day. How do these work together and how about if I switch to ativan or xanax xr?

I took Adderall XR (20 mg) and Cymbalta (up to 90 mg) together for about a year and had no problems. I also took Xanax XR for a good portion of that time. I ended up on the Xanax because I was also taking Wellbutrin with all this and Wellbutrin gives me a lot of physical anxiety symptoms (trembling, muscle tension).

Basically, from my experience, it should all be fine. But your mileage my vary.

I took Cymbalta + Adderall for about 5 months. no problem together. Adderall wrecked my sleep so I switched to Strattera, which is doing much better.
