netsavy006
Anybody use an anti-psychotic as their sole mood stabilzer? I'm doing this now with Zyprexa Zydis and I have to say thus far it's been great. I've been on Zyprexa Zydis since January, 2008.
DMF
DD has not been on Zyprexa but Seroquel (1000 mg.) did not do the trick. She also takes 1800 mg. Trileptal a day but is in a high stress period right now (just had a shunt put in her brain to drain excess CSF). I would imagine they'll reduce her Seroquel to her normal 800 mg. and possibly reduce the Trileptal to 1200 mg. once she gets back to norm. Anybody use an anti-psychotic as their sole mood stabilzer? wifezilla
Hubby has been on Zyprexa for long stretches in the past. For some people is it very helpful. For hubby, it is more useful to treat psychotic episodes, but was a bit of an overkill when he wasn't wicked manic. My attitude is "if it aint broke, don't fix it!". So if it is working, no worries. If you start having side effects, then talk to your doc about alternatives.
