What is the "true" up to date blood level these days? My neuro claims that they (company) started w/ a 5-10 level# & have now got a wild hair & made the max being 15 or something. ( No, this did not happen today, I think it was w/in the "years".)

My last level came out 9.2 & that's close to 10 in my book & would explain the nystagmus. Or it could be the lamictal bitching @ dilantin.

I have read of it and various other meds being possible to be tested that way that aren't commonly checked up on like that, but I've never even heard of anyone on here having their Lamictal levels tested, so I have no idea who would know and no anecdotal evidence to pull out of my ass like I usually do. It seems like most people usually just end up changing how much they take fairly arbitrarily until they either end up at a dose that works for them or fail to find one that does.

I've read elsewhere about lamictal levels. Hell, the stuff I've read, somepeople treat it like lithium levels--they seem to think you should have it checked just as often, or that it's just as easy.

I say, bunkum. Lithium, and a few others, need to be checked because of toxicity issues and other general dose/efficacy issues. most meds, however, are pretty easy: adjust the dose til you feel them working. For instance, I took lamictal at the usual 200 mg and was fine, got worse, upped it to 300 mg, got better. Screw serum levels.

So my question to you is this: at your current levels, do you feel your lamictal is doing the job? It's just that simple.

Together they do the job, but when the eye's are shit most of the day it's time to take out the trash.

I have done the add & remove test, but no dice! I wait a hour or so after taking the other drugs & eye's are fine. I take the lamictal & 15 minutes later..........
