is there any difference between invega and risperdal

Recommended Posts

some people believe invega is a "me too" med. meaning it's not better than the prodrug because it's actually the active metabolite from risperdal.

have anyone taken both? i need some sort of comparison wheather it feels different.

i took risperdal and it was sort of crap for me. is it still worth trying invega?

The main differnce is the way it acts in your body...invega goes through your kidneys rather than your liver, and while risperdal may need to be taken more than once per day (once works for me) invega is a once-per-day dosing.

The real differnce would be in side effects. Price-wise, if you can handle the SEs, risperdal is better; I can't imagine any differences effect-wise.
