ka-mai
From the NY times: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/24/arts/24c...-GG-NA-S-carlin excerpt: George Carlin, the Grammy-Award winning standup comedian and actor who was hailed for his irreverent social commentary, poignant observations of the absurdities of everyday life and language, and groundbreaking routines like
Stars
One of the truly great ones. I loved his act, believe he hosted first SNL episode. A brave new world for those of us in the 70's.
Gwen
I'm very happy that I got to see him live a few years ago. His older material is more to my taste, especially his discussions of the inconsistencies of language (flammable, inflammable, and non-inflammable, etc.) and of course the seven words you can't say on television, but his newer, coarser stuff is also funny as hell. In honor of Mr. Carlin I'd like to express my feelings with regards to his death: SHIT!!! PISS!!! FUCK!!! CUNT!!! COCKSUCKER!!! MOTHERFUCKER!!! TITS!!! withing
That is indeed sad news. He was one of my favorites. I'll miss seeing him in the movies and on stage. But of course, he'll always be around on the internet...

olga
He was terrific. When he got going on one of his rants, it was just so great to watch his synapses snapping and listen as he recited one of his lists or talked about the incongruities of modern life. He was one of the smarter people in show biz. olga
