LiamB
Hello, I hear voices. Recently they've been telling me I'm someone else, telling me that if I go outside I will get shot. Or that the bus will get into an accident on my way to my friends house. I don't know how to push through this and go about my daily life. But right now I don't want to leave my house. My anxiety is really terrible. How do you deal with voices when they contribute to paranoia? Thanks!
Artemisia
Your voices definitely don't sound fun, and you should see a doctor about them... (I assume that there isn't quite so much crime in your neighborhood that it "makes sense" to be afraid to stick your head outside.) Could you have someone go with you--if that would make you feel safer? From what you've written, it's not clear whether you're already seeing someone for mental issues or not. If you do, then it'll probably be easier to make an appointment, and perhaps you already have meds that might reduce the voices. Definitely talk to a mental health provider, regardless of the circumstances...
