BPD + what r u?

Thought it'd be interesting to see rates of co-morbidity (right term I think) amongst us. And even more so to see how old we were when it showed up/was seen by others?

Oh, okay, well that second question confused me. I was officially dx'd last year. But by the age of 8, I was doing self-harm, I didn't think of it as *that*, I was just finding ways to cope, that just so happened to be very unhealthy. I had never heard of BPD til I came here.

I'm a little out of it today, but if I understand the question correctly, I have both bipolar and borderline personality disorders. These were diagnosed a little over 2 years ago, but I exhibited symptoms for years before that.

intresting. tx guys.i know the questions are kinda jumbly .... in a nut shell are most of us BOTH BPD AND BP somethin? and when are most of us diagnosed

I was diagnosed with BPD traits when I was 16 (they just write disorder now that I'm 18 early next year) and soon before I turned 17 I was diagnosed bipolar type II, but my current case manager isn't sure if I have major depression or bipolar and am in a major depressive episode.
