MiaB
I've been battling with this pretty much since the new format was introduced. On average it takes me more than 60 seconds to access another blog, and on occasion the hourglass has sat there with no screen movement for 2-3 minutes - at which point my already limited patience cracks and I give up completely. Getting into my own is particularly painful. Is there any reason for this? I thought the problem might lie on my end, but members of my blog "community" (a set of private blogs) have complained about the same thing. thanks Mia
Velvet Elvis
Created_tmp_disk_tables has gone way up since the the upgrade regardless of the amount of ram I dedicate to temp tables. I've filed a bug report that's been ignored. When this happens, hit stop and try again. That could help. It seems that the private blogs have been the worst afflicted. Just for the sake of testing, try making some posts public in case it makes a difference. I've been experimenting with with a few different free blog hosting alternatives but it will likely be next year before I can get any of them to a usable state. There are better commercial software alternatives that we could purchase but that would cost the better part of $1000. If I can get half that in donations I'll try and pull together the other half. The current blog software is $50 a year and a total ripoff.
Velvet Elvis
OK, the problem here was narrowed down to the recent comments block. It's disabled for the time being. That should speed things up quite a bit.
