Alpam
I have seen that Norepinephrine is sometimes used in the treatment of panic disorder, but from what I have read Norepinephrine stimulates the 'fight or flight' response affecting adrenergic receptors, which would indicate to me that it would if anything increase anxiety and panic attacks. So how does Norepinephrine help with panic attacks? and can it be used for GAD?
Velvet Elvis
Most drugs that people call NRIs are in fact MRIs, multiple reuptake inhibitors. I've never seen anything indicated that a pure NRI can do jack for anxiety. If you're in the US and are not taking Strattera or desipramine, you're not taking an NRI, however. Alpam
I was thinking about reboxetine when I wrote the original post, from what I have read it's purely a NRI and can be used for depression / panic disorder / ADHD
Velvet Elvis
OK, that one isn't available in the US. From what I understand of this stuff I wouldn't think it would be terribly effective but I could be wrong.

And bupropion isn't much of a multiple reuptake inhibitor... I haven't read of anyone finding these meds calming or anxiolytic that didn't have an ADHD diagnosis.
