Maychild
My combo worked really well for about a month and then puttered out. Now I feel like I'm just in a mixed episode all of the time. My pdoc, at least I feel, is kind of at a loss of what to do. He wants to introduce new drugs (right now, I couldn't tell you what they are because I have no short term memory). I'm losing hope of feeling better ever. We keep upping my dosage of Geodon and Topamax without any results except for me feeling even more hopeless. It didn't help with him starting off our last appointment with saying, "I want to clarify something. My diagnosis for you has changed. You have medication resistant major Bipolar I." I thanked him for using so many negative words in one sentence (I was being really sarcastic and funny). But it scared the bejeezus out of me. Any advice? Maychild
Zoloft, Paxil, Wellbutrin, Trazadone, Xanax, Valium, Klonopin, Seroquel, Lithium, Depokote, Abilify, Neurontin and now Haldol (all within the past two years). Along with the current meds that I am on. No Zyprexa? Zyprexa stops me dead in my tracks when I'm manic. I'm not manic. I'm in a mixed episode. And it seems, for now, that the Haldol is working. With emphasis on for now. This seems to be more psychologically based than pharmaceuticals. I can't seem to sit well, still, with how I see myself. I didn't figure that out until my therapy session yesterday. Yes, meds can help ease the pain in the processing of the emotions but no drug can take that away. Even I admit that. Thanks for your help anyway.
