Michael
My Dr switched me from a low dose of Risperal to Abilify about a month ago. He said it was because Abilify was FDA approved for long term treatment of depression and Risperdal wasn't. 2 weeks ago my fingers started getting numb. I stopped taking it about 10 days ago and my fingers are still numb I hope it's not permanent.
SUEzie
I don't know squat about Abilify, but hopefully soon someone will write in w/some sort of information based on their experience. Sorry, wish I had more info. for you. I'd certainly ask my P-doc what's up with that, though, and tell him about it, if I were you. I wish you well, - Susan
Kablume
How many mg. do you take?
Michael
How many mg. do you take? I was 2.5 mg/ day for a couple weeks then lowered to 1.25 mg for a couple weeks because I was having insomnia. I was on 2 mg/ day of Risperdal for 2 years before this and never had this problem. Rabbit37
I'm up to 30mg, and haven't had this problem at all. Are you sure it's abilify-related? ETA: I have carpal-tunnel that flares up once in a while, and that's exactly it, my fingertips become numb. Just a thought?
Michael
Hmm..never thought about Carpal Tunnel. I use a computer for 8 hours a day 5 days a week.. I'll ask my Dr. about that when I see her next week.
