Lamictal and Alcohol: In case you were curious.

Don't drink a massive amount of alcohol and take your Lamictal the next morning when you wake up with a hangover.

I puked up water and tasted the lamictal come up and I was sick all day.

When they say that you shouldn't mix alcohol and your meds, they're only half right. You can drink, but be careful.

Lamictal is about as bitter a medicine as they make. It's hard enough to get it down the throat with water on a good day.

The bigger issue than taking meds on a hungover stomach, is that alcohol + Lamictal can have unpredictable result. One time a single drink may make you sloshed and wobbly. The next a whole bottle may give barely a buzz.

One or two drinks a week is a common suggested limit, if you must drink. Remember, your brain is limping and in a sling. ;)

try lamictal and seroquel with alcohol. zombie!! I don't take seroquel anymore, but i do take tegretol and zeldox with the lamictal now. I just avoid alcohol altogether. i think one drink would make me feel drunk.

its not like getting tipsy fast either. its like loss of coordination, slurred speech, and my brain hurts like hell. like hangover straight away. and my eyes go funny, and i pretty much just have to go to sleep.

however it does vary. because a while ago (although this was before the zeldox) i had two drinks, and was ok. i guess it depends on what you drink and how fast, and how much meds are still in the system. either way, i'm not keen on trying this again!
