typical geodon dosing

going to be switching from abilify 20mg to geodon here in the next couple of days and i want to be informed when i go see the doctor. i don't want to start out with to low of a dose because that will just delay recovery time. just like with the abilify, he initially started me on 2mgs and it WAY to low. so i want to know what the average bipolar dosage is. does anyone know?

for bipolar mania it is suggested 80mg twice a day that can be reached within two days of starting the drug. It often comes in titration packs of 40mg, 60mg and 80mg (or something like that).

Same dosing for schizophrenia.

However, i only take mine at night - if you're not manic, its pretty hard hitting to take morning and night.

Starting on a low dose makes it easier for your body to adjust to the drug, and it won't knock you out as much to start off with. It doesn't take long to titrate up though. If you're worried about dosing, ask your doc.
