I've been taking seroquel for about 1 year .shadow people . also I was watching tv and the living room chair seemed to slide. Has anyone experienced this? I was in bed and saw a outline of a person at my bedroom door I thought it was my boyfriend I could see his arms moving around. so I asked him what was he doing and got no response,I then started to get aggravated so I got up out bed to confront him but there was nobody there<BR>

You know, although my psych doesn't seem to take this seriously, I have similar weird experiences when I take it at night.

I don't hallucinate as I would off meds, but as soon as I take my dose it has to be when I really am ready for sleep or I get these side effects : sort of seeing evil feeling figures in the room, a demonic hallucinatory quality to my flat and horrible sedation and heart-thumping (tachycardia, I believe).

I am so sure the Seroquel starts this. It doesn't happen any other time.

This means I take it as soon as I am ready for sleep and not just as I get into bed and read.

It's hellish.

I hope you feel better.

Seroquel can actually CAUSE hallucinations at higher doses in some. So it's not out of the ballpark that the med could indeed be causing this. What doses are you taking? Would you consider asking pdoc for something else instead to see if it's really the med?

  • 2 weeks later...

I had a somewhat similar situation when I first started taking seroquel at low dosages. If I didn't take it and get into bed right away, when I DID go to bed, I would get these wierd flashy things when my eyes were closed. They seemed to have shapes so it was like being able to watch dreams but you're awake. It was very disquieting but it went away for me after a few weeks.
