Low dose Seroquel/Quetiapine with ADs

Recommended Posts

I take 50mg a night, but no ADs, and I am a big fan of Seroquel. The first week or so was tough -- I felt so out of it that I couldn't tie my shoes, but now I feel normal. Just calmer. Plus, I'm not hearing sounds that aren't there! And I lost 6 lbs by following my doc's advice: no simple carbs and at least 30 minutes of aerobic exercise a day. Good luck!

Seroquel is wonderful when it comes to anxiety + insomnia. I found it a little too sedating (sleeping 13 hoursish), which was part of the reason why I don't take it on a regular basis anymore. But not everyone has that issue.

I didn't gain any weight on Seroquel, much to my pdoc's surprise.

My pdoc has recently discussed this as an addition to my 40Mg Celexa.

I understand that this is an off-label use and can be useful for med resistant people (like me !!!).

How does Seroquel work at a low dose? Anyone had any good effects from it?

I love what seroquel does for my anxiety, but I hate the amount of time it makes me sleep. I'm usually out cold about two hours after taking it, which is why my pdoc switched me recently to Solian (which I hate so far. I think I might have to bite the bullet and go for Zyprexa after all).

Mind you, I take it for mood stabilization with my Efexor (I'm down to 75mg Efexor now. Woohoo!!).

Make sure you read up on all the literature on seroquel before you opt for this one. You might not be so keen when you see a lot of what is around.
