OK Epival 3 weeks ago 750mg

Lithium 2 weeks ago 900mg

Started these meds, Pdoc says this will take you out of your bad reality for awhile, I'm still waiting, reality is still here every morning, I cant even work

Over the phone he increases the Epival to 1000mg daily today but wont touch the Lith, we'll see

I'm also taking 600mgs of Tegretol daily, Am I expecting too - much too soon or what. How are these doses compared to others, I'm thinking low, I thought the 3 of them would do some pretty good damage

Let me know please

i think you need to give the meds more time. a couple of weeks is not long enough to expect to see all the difference in the world. i think it is too soon.

not to mention the fact that meds aren't exactly magical. just from how you are talking, i don't know if you might be expecting too much in general. these pills don't have the power to completely change "reality," but what they do is sort of alleviate symptoms in order to make "reality" easier to deal with. Meds and therapy... "Reality" will always be present, it is just a matter of how you handle it.

Lithium has to reach (and stay) within therapeutic levels in the bloodstream. That can't be checked over the telephone. For now.

As Ophelia said, even with the best medications reality will still be there waiting for you. And sometimes, that reality really DOES suck from an objective point of view. If it's possible, maybe arrange an appointment with a therapist, counsellor, or social worker, to see about how to deal with the rotten reality stuff?
