Ritalin and Focalin didn't do anything for me. Adderall worked well but then I started having a small issue with it where I got these palpitations now and then, but they increased when I got to a good dose of 20mg IR 3x per day.

So then I went to vyvanse and that has worked OK for a few months, but now it isn't working as well. I also have been having a bit of mood swings getting irritable because it seems like I can't get everything done, little things sometimes fustrate me a bit more than they used to, and then other times I feel a bit sad or discouraged might be a better way to say it.

The other big part is my anxiety, and I am taking 1mg xanax xr two times per day, along with .5mg as needed up to 2 x per day, but can take 3 if I need to, which isn't all that often.

I have tried prozac, zoloft, paxil (that gave me the weird heart beats to...), celexa, lexapro, cymbalta, and one other I can't remember, an older ssri. Cymbalta seemed to be the best for anxiety and low side effects, I stopped before I found out this new doctor said I have a "Major" case of add.

So then I stayed on cymbalta while trying the first add meds, but I felt tired still and stuff, so I came off that and also moved from klonopin to xanax. Now my energy is good on vyvanse, and xanax is just "OK". So I am trying to figure out if I should add in something else and also try another add medication?

The adderall xr seemed to work well but those palpitations caused the doctor to stop it, although I have gotten them - not palpitations as much as they are "PVC beats or the other kind" that are nothing big I guess.

So then I also found on cymbalta I felt discouraged at times as well, but that might be just life and work sucks at times and stress, etc. So I am looking for opinions on what to try?

I heard Dexedrine is good, but the one doctor says no because she thinks adderall is cleaner and less side effects, then I heard on hear from reading it is good because it is smoother than adderall, so I am just confused.

Vyvanse turns into dexidrine in your gut so there's not a whole lot of point in switching.

One thing to consider would be adding a norepenephric antidepressant such as wellbutrin, strattera or desipramine to your cocktail.

An alpha-2 adrenergic agonist such as clonidine or tennex might help a bit with both ADD and anxiety but could make you feel more tired and depressed.
