ANOTHER med switch

Recommended Posts

I've had a rough fall and winter. Mucho instability, a hospitalization, med changes and side effects. I'm very disheartened, because I've just had to make the decision to go off the Geodon and switch to generic Risperidone. My insurance has changed for 2009, and I can't afford the $550 copay for a 90 day supply of Geodon. It just sucks, and I'm dreading the switch. Dreading it. I can't take time off, I've already gotten the "you're not performing up to standard" speech, and I'm the sole income. I'm scared, tired, pissed, and worried.

not much to say other than I feel ya, sistah.

it sucks to not be able to afford... or have affordable the chemicals that help keep us stable. Frickin' pharma racketeers!

Anelize, you're right, you have had a sucky time of it. I wish there was something I could say. My heart goes out to you. I hope it's not as bad as you anticipate it will be. Insurance and med changes are way up there on the stress-o-meter.

Hoping 2009 is better for us all.

Have you thought of doing this?

If you qualify (and at 500.00+ per month I would think so) for free meds ....

I hope the link works the way it's supposed to.

there is a link half way down the page or so that is about low cost or free meds

No dice, but thanks for the link.
