Changed
I am taking 5mg of abilify and I want to come off of it. Is it necessary to slice them in half for a week or can I go ahead and stop. Also are AAP's hard to withdraw from?
Changed
Well its the old pdoc who thinks cold turkey is always best. Im a little skeptical about her ideas so I thought I would see what had happened to other people.
netsavy006
I would think a slower taper would be better to help avoid side effects of withdrawal. My pdoc says to not quit a med cold turkey. Abilify pills can be split in half so you could try splitting the pills in half for a week before stopping them.
scatty
If you've been on it for only a short time I urge you to tough it out. I felt like i got run over by a truck the first 2-3 weeks I took it. I felt like I had the flu. I would have to sit down every half hour form doing light housework. It was hell! But after that it really helped me, with apathy and motivation, plus getting rid of delusions. My depression lifted as well.
