Trying to find myself...

Recommended Posts

My name is Veronique (pronounced Veronica) and I'm Bipolar. I was diagnosed when I was 16, but I've had symptoms since 13. I've cut and self-medicated in the past, and if it was a bad idea I did it. Happily I saw the error of my ways and now I'm straight edge as they come, fore-swearing caffeine and chocolate along with the alcohol and drugs. I do have severe problems with socializing, though it has nothing to do with anxiety and everything with the fact that I never really learned how. I'm currently residing in a long-term stay hotel room because I left my partner of four years while riding a manic high. This has yet to make me depressed, which I find odd and strangely refreshing. I really enjoy hiking and being outside, so naturally I hate winter. My favorite band is The Cure. I'm an optimist and an Aquarius. ;)

Welcome Veronique. This is a good place with great people.

Yes, welcome to Crazyboards. Please have fun looking around, and PM a moderator if you have an issue with anything.

We do have a few rules, and it might amuse you to read them. Other than that, we're pretty easy-going around here.

It's your turn to make the coffee. And don't forget the donuts.

ps- for some reason the title of this post cracks me up every time,

I think it reminds me of something from when I was little but now it's CB-style ;)

... but you didn't mention whether you had psychiatrist (we call them pdocs for short) or a therapist (we call them tdocs for short)?

Yes, I have a pdoc, a tdoc, and a communications group that I attend Thursday mornings. ;)
