olga
I took Cymbalta for 9 months, and I drink 2-4 cups of coffee every day. I found Cymbalta to be a pretty effective AD, but I ended up going off it because I was sleepy all the time. I slept 8-9 hours a night, took a nap every afternoon and just felt sleepy all the time. If anything, the caffeine seemed to have no effect at all. So no, I don't think Cymbalta did anything in terms of interacting with caffeine. olga
sorrel
Sounds questionable. A search of "duloxetine caffeine" on PubMed turns up absolutely nothing. Ask him for a reference. In a "wow, I'm really interested" kind of way, not a "I'm challenging your knowledge" kind of way, of course.
bearfan
As a general rule of thumb, caffeine usually has a magnified effect when taking anti-depressants. But When I tried Cymbalta, I was tired even after having a caffeinated beverage.
