Greenyflower
I did the Emsam 10 day washout and started nortriptyline. Actually, I only lasted 8 days on the washout and started the nortrip on night 8 at a meager 25 mgs. As of today, I've been on 50 mgs of nortrip for 12 days, and I'm feeling...good. Is it possible to get real antidepressant effect that quickly, and on a low dose? Or has my brain finally learned how to do placebo? It's not great. There is still daily suicidal thinking and low spots, but overall I'm coping much better than even two weeks ago. I'm almost daring to hope that this might be working. Greenyflower- I was only px'd nortriptilyine more than a decade ago in conjunction with Paxil as something to help me sleep. I personally never derived anything from nortriptyline......nothing sleep inducing, nor did it seem to help with depression. It was a pharmaceutical "sideplate" that I had no use for, nor did I ever see any use for. However, as you KNOW we are all different, so I cannot say what it "will", "will not" do for you. I, for one, would be interested if you ever find any useful purpose for nortiptilyne. I couldn't even ever tell I was taking it. Keep us posted! thunderstorm
like Deepster, my experiences with nortrip were about a decade ago. But - it was quite fast acting for me. YMMV, as always. (maybe we need to start using YBMV instead - Your Brain May Vary!)
