orangebutterfly
Hi, my name's Laura. I'm a 21 y/o senior in college majoring in social work and minoring in Spanish. And I fucking love this website so far. Seriously, i've been looking for a place like this for a long time. I don't have many friends in the town I live in, and really no one here who understands MIs. Thankfully I do have several best friends who do; however they live miles and even states away in some cases. Current DX: generalized anxiety disorder, major depression, eating disorder NOS, and self-injury if it were a diagnosis past DXs: PTSD current medications: bupropion (wellbutrin) 200, Venlafaxine (effexor) 112.5 past medications: age 11-12: prozac, trazidone, risperidol age 19: zoloft I love sleeping, listening to music, sleeping, reading, sleeping, watching Family Guy and House, and sleeping. I find it amusing that I have trouble sleeping. I'm also totally blind. Several studies say that the two are connected in some way, but what the hell do I know. I engage in disordered eating and self-injury from time to time, and a lot of self-medication all the time. My drugs of choice are benadryl and dramamine for anxiety, caffeine and diet pills for fatigue and depression, and imitril for nausea caused by fatigue and anxiety. These are all OTC drugs in case anyone was wondering. Um, I'm bad at introductions, and I always figure I come off sounding stupid anyways, so I'll end it here. I'm glad to be here, and I again can't tell you all how excited I am to have found this site. Laura

tryp
Hey - Welcome to CrazyBoards You certainly seem like our type - glad you found us. It sounds like we have a couple things in common - I'm a university student as well (double major in English Lit and Physiology) and I LOVE House Looking forward to seeing your posts. olga
Welcome! We're glad you found us. I hope you find some helpful information here. Please PM a mod if you have a concern that is not addressed on the boards, or just to ask a question. I'm curious because I have some visually impaired friends: what software are you using on your computer? We talk about that all the time, so I like to make suggestions of someone recommends a good program. olga
bluelikejazz
Hey You sound like you fit in here perfectly well I love House too, except that my family tries to diagnose the patients from the start of the episode, which of course they can't. I have some friends doing social work, it looks like a hard career but a rewarding one. Cya around.

orangebutterfly
I'm curious because I have some visually impaired friends: what software are you using on your computer? We talk about that all the time, so I like to make suggestions of someone recommends a good program. olga Well, I use JAWS for everyday use. Occasionally I use a demo version of Window-Eyes to access our school's online blackboard/webCT thing because it's all JAVA and doesn't play well with JAWS. I also use satogo.com occasionally on my really slow desktop because it's less of a system hog than either of the other two. Plus it's free, and you can use it on any computer that has an internet connection. K sorry if this sounds kinda geeky... if any of your friends have any specific questions about anything, feel free to message and pass it along. I'm all for networking. All of the stuff I've learned has pretty much been from talking to other end-users like myself online. Thanks for the welcome from everyone! I'm really looking forward to hanging around here. I'm actually kinda shy, but I'm sure I'll find a place to jump in eventually. In the mean time, I'd better get started if I want to be able to keep up with all the posts plus my course load. olga
We haven't had a nipple clamps thread here since Zon left, and I'm not even sure how long ago that happened. Well, I thought orangebutterfly was referring to the last line in our rules. When someone mentions nipple clamps, I figure they've actually read the rules! Orangebutterfly, thanks for the information. I moderate a chat room for people with Glaucoma. Most of us are sighted, but we have a few who are legally or totally blind, and they're always discussing software. I'm writing down what you said so I can tell them. olga
