jimbo8000
Hi! I've just started taking Lexapro 10mg in the last two weeks. Last week the temperature was over 43c (110f) for three days and I was working outside for 12 hrs each day. I ended up with heat exhaustion and just wondered if anyone knows if Lexapro can make you vulnerable to heat related conditions. Thanx.
AirMarshall
I can't find anything in the PI sheet about heat intolerance. There is an 8% reported increased sweating, and fever and hot flushes are listed as 'frequent". Paxil, another SSRI gave me significanlty increased sweating. I wouldn't be surprised if you find you have a decreased heat tolerance. Still, 3 days of 12 hours work in 110F is pretty damn hot, any way you cut it. Be careful, since heat exhaustion episodes make you more susceptible to another episode! Take breaks, drink plenty of water. Best, a.m.
