Shall I, or not...

;)

I was invited to join this board by my very good friend, but wow it is intimidating! We were together on another board, but this one is more fun?

He says everyone here is great, he has loads of fun and friends here, so, well, I am at last introducing myself! :)

I hope my very good friend sees me here, so at least he will answer and welcome me!

I was diagnosed last year - and am at last stable on Wellbutrin SR,Lamictal and Topomax and Omega 3. Don't know yet if I like being stable, but hey, at least I am not in danger of losing my job any more. Not as far as I know anyway. :)

Overweight, I am now dieting.

I don't know what else to say. I love the emoticons and if I may stay, I intend driving everyone nuts by overdoing the emoticons.

Oh yeah. I live in South Africa - is that a problem? May I be on this board? English is my second language. I always am very nice, so if what I say sounds rude or nasty, I promise it is not meant as such? It is by accident?

I always talk too much.

We have people from everywhere on here, so don't worry.

;) En jy praat die taal!!! WOW now I feel so good!!!!!

I shall soon remove my mask!!! :) I hope that is a laughing face! :)

I have been told by my friend that he loves it here and that I will soon just dump the other boards!

Thanks for the welcome!

But the nagivation is hectic... I find myself in the wrong discussions or in old stuff constantly. Not easy!

I feel I need a GPS!

Welcome to Crazyboards Karin. I'm certain you'll love it here...I joined in December last year and I felt as though I'd come home! ;)

Don't worry about the navigation, you'll get used to it. And if you get stuck, just click "view new posts" at the top of the page and you'll be able to see what is currently under discussion.

Also, blogs are great. It's a great way of getting stuff off your chest. Hope to chat to you soon.

Hi, Karin---welcome aboard.

Here's one way to look through the place. If you look in the upper left-hand corner of your screen, you'll see "CrazyBoards." If you click on that, it takes you to the "top" of the boards. Having arrived there, you can scroll down to see which forum you would like to explore. If you get lost, sometimes it's just easier to start at the beginning.

As Karuna said, PM any of the mods if you don't understand something. And Rabbit suggested reading the rules, which is a great idea. They aren't complicated.

Again, welcome!

I was invited to join this board by my very good friend, but wow it is intimidating!

I've told a few friends to join as well and as far as I know none of them have taken me up on it yet, so I'm glad he told you about us (and that you listened, lol). I was totally intimidated at first too (I spent a month or so just readingreadingreading posts from years ago before I even joined) but everyone here makes it pretty easy to jump right in.

I was diagnosed last year - and am at last stable on Wellbutrin SR,Lamictal and Topomax and Omega 3. Don't know yet if I like being stable (...)

Wellbutrin and Lamictal are two of my most important meds when it comes to me being stable (love. Lamictal.), I'm glad you've found something that works! I don't have to tell you what a struggle it can be to find the right combination of meds, so stick with it even if stability feels weird. When you've been used to something for most of your life and suddenly things are so different, of course it'll take some getting used to- give yourself some time and try to think about the things that you can enjoy or not worry about now that you weren't able to in the past. Sorry for the unsolicited advice, but I'm pretty sure I know the feeling and that's what's helped me.

Overweight, I am now dieting.

Another thing we have in common. The difference is that I'm not 'dieting' because when I'm on a diet ALL I think about is food, ALL the time-- if I don't label it as a diet and just try to get rid of bad habits and form new ones (one at a time.) then I do a lot better (down 40lbs, maintained for a year and plenty more to lose, lol). Drink water like a fish :P

I don't know what else to say. I love the emoticons and if I may stay, I intend driving everyone nuts by overdoing the emoticons.

hehe, I like them too. I especially find ^_^ , ;) , and :) since there are some things that *need* an expression since you can't see my face to see if I'm joking, etc. since we're online. I found out the hard way that there's a limit to how many of the buggers you can fit into a post! If you put too many it won't let you post until you go back and pare them down, haha.

English is my second language. I always am very nice, so if what I say sounds rude or nasty, I promise it is not meant as such? It is by accident?

I've found that folks who learned English as a second language tend to be pretty articulate. Y'all have better grammar than most of us, at least :)

I always talk too much.

ME TOO!

(can you tell? whoops.)

----

Quick tips:

- 'View New Posts' at the top of the page is the best.thing.ever. and that's where I usually start when I get here to see what's new since I was here last since there are a lot of boards to check.

- If you click on "My Controls" you can edit things like: your 'avatar' (the little photo below your name), your signature (which appears at the end of your posts like mine below), and your 'profile information' which has spots for your location (so you can put South Africa if you'd like-- your location appears below your avatar in each post) and what's called your "custom member title" which is the little sentence that you can put under your avatar as well (can be whatever you want).

- Lastly (I promise! lol) is that we use a LOT of acronyms and shorthand here so don't hesitate to ask if you don't know what someone means. Common ones are pdoc (psychiatrist), tdoc (therapist, psychologist or counselor), and YMMV ("your millage may vary" meaning something affects us all differently).

Hope that helps. I'm glad you found us, welcome to CB!

Yes, Karin! My lovely South African friend! I am here, and so glad to see you. These are wonderful people, and you'll find the support and friendships here that got me to this board, and now(WOW!!!!) I've got you here!

Yes, for a short while the navigation here will be a bit "different" from whence we came, but you'll love it! One thing you might want to try for a couple of days(took me weeks to figure out how simple this made things) is to just go to the "new posts" link. At least that way, you'll be reading posts from varying forums and will adapt quickly.

Contatct me directly if you need assistance. I love you being here!

Lotsa love to you!

Hi. I've been on so many boards, feels like hundreds. This one & crazymeds are the very best I've ever come across.

I'm always telling people about it too. It's been a life saver for me.

Hi,

If you get stuck with anything, feel free to contact a moderator and ask.

Hi!

Thank you so much for the very friendly welcome - I am overwhelmed!

I could not reply to messages on my mobile phone's internet this week-end, so that why a thundering silence from me! ;)

But I could read - and really like the board. I could really become addicted to it, just like my friend foretold! :)

There's a list of rules at the beginning, that ought to help clear up any questions you have. But there's no walking on eggshells around here, for the most part. it's a great support system, glad you're here.

Welcome.

Hi, Rabbit!

Sorry for only answering now, had a hassle logging in on my cell.

It is at that list of rules at the beginning that helps to intimidate me! :):) What if I'm told to take my shit somwhere else! ;) Would I be allowed to come back here? ^_^:P However, anyone who can write a list of rules like that, well, THAT's the place I want to be! :(:(

Thanks for the very warm welcome!

Hi, Olga!

Anyone who says: "Who the hell are are you" is so funny, that this is where I need to be!

And anyone who says: "Take your shit somewhere else" In the rules... I keep re-reading those rules just because they are so funny!

Thanks for the welcome, I think I'll love it here!

Hey, Fluffybirdie!

I have spoken to you in another chat already, I am sure?

I find everyone very positive as well - it is just such a different attitude from where Deepster and I come from - he was right, I should have come across here long ago!

I Think we are twins!!! Thank you so much for all the help - the board rules are so funny, that I laugh so much that I don't get to take them seriously. Does any of it really apply? I mean, anyone who can say: WHo the hell are you?

Way funny! ;)

Hi, Bimbo!

Yeah - the one I was at is a clique scene, and I just became very unhappy there. But I thought all sites were the same, until Deepster told me about this one...

Yoohoo Deepster!!! ;) (Hope that's a laugh)

We think alike on a lot of issues, so I am so glad I am here now :)
