Moso
My doctor is switching me from .5mg/day of Risperdal to 25mg/day or Seroquel. I just took my first dose of Seroquel about an hour ago. From what I've read online it makes you really sedated. So far it doesn't seem so bad though. I hope it works out, the Risperdal was giving me some twitching in my face and tongue. Dx: Socialphobia / Paranoia Rx: 10mg Lexapro, 25mg Seroquel
scooby1001
25mg of seroquel is a VERY low dose so you should not find is too sedating and even if it is to start with it should wear off after a week or so. I am on 600mg and it is getting less sedating as the weeks go on.
SnowWhiteQueen
I started at 25mgs, and at one time had worked all the way up to 800mgs. (I've met somewhere in the middle now and settled at 400mgs.) I, and apparently many others here as well, can attest to the fact that the smaller doses are actually more sedating than the larger doses. Don't know why, and I know it sounds weird, but it just seems to usually be the case. But if it's not having that effect on you, then more power to ya'. Good luck! I really like Seroquel now that my body has gotten used to it and I've found the proper dose for me.
