Beetzart
Hi, when I saw the pdoc last week he suggested that I should stay on Cipramil (been on for nearly 18 months) as it is a really good drug (on 60mg). But, he would like to add another one but said he would think about it. Well I've got an appiontment tomorrow with another doc so I'm going to see what he has decided. I am already taking olanzapine 10mg and Buspar 5mgx2 daily so would another drug be any help and has anyone here ever been on two ADs at once? I don't think the Cipramil has really helped me as I have been in a very dark depression since the new year but would be willing to try something else. Any advice would be appreciated. Velvet Elvis
Different antidepressants can target different neurtransmitters, acting in very different ways. Taking two antidepressants at once therefore may well not be as redundant as it sounds. Often they may have a synergistic effect, each boosting the effect of the other. I do quite well on a combination of Wellbutrin and an SSRI, for example. I definitely think it's worth a shot in your case.
